Status: One-year contract, 37.5 hours/week (with possibility of renewal dependent on funding)

Position Summary

The Research and Data Analyst will play a critical role in the growth and success of Ontario EcoSchools. Reporting to the Development and Operations Manager, the Research and Data Analyst will conduct research and evaluation activities, including data collection, quantitative and qualitative analyses, modelling, reporting, and data visualization. The Research and Data Analyst will also coordinate the development and implementation of research projects: an impact evaluation study and energy consumption dashboards. The role will involve implementing the organization’s digital strategy, including the maintenance of the certification application platform and contact management database and providing ongoing IT support to staff. The ideal candidate is a data-driven and design-oriented systems thinker who displays exceptional creative and critical thinking skills and a passion for innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct research and analyze data related to programming, operations, fundraising, finances, and overall strategic planning
Develop and track performance metrics and indicators
Prepare research reports and recommendations
Assist development, testing, deployment, training, and end user support for certification platform and Salesforce
Support the identification, documentation, mapping, and communication of standard operating procedures
Maintain data integrity and security
Work closely with the Development and Operations Manager and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Postsecondary degree in social sciences, environmental studies, business, computing, statistics, engineering or related field (Master’s degree strongly preferred)
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods, program monitoring and evaluation
Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpret findings
Experience with CRM (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and/or database management (e.g. SQL, MS Access)
Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VBA, macros)
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills
Excellent writing, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Resourcefulness, initiative, and flexibility to function collaboratively as part of a small team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Demonstrated understanding and interest in environmental issues and/or environmental education

Assets

Proficiency with advanced statistical software (e.g. R, SaS, SPSS)
Experience in project management and working with external firms
Academic knowledge of environmental education and/or behavioural science
Proficiency in WordPress, Google Analytics, e-learning applications (Adobe Connect)
Experience with Adobe Creative applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) an asset
Fluency in French
Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license; access to vehicle
