Systems / Network Administrator Support (Jr. Role) – PDW Inc – North Vancouver, BC

We currently have and exciting opportunity for a Jr. Systems and Network Administrator.
The perfect candidate will have 2 or more years experience working with Mac Computers.

In this role you will provide application and hardware support to end-users, and will provide friendly and timely solutions to business problems and keep all systems running smoothly.

PLEASE NOTE: EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH MAC COMPUTERS/SYSTEMS IS A MUST

Duties and Responsabilities

Network and Communications – Understanding of LAN/WAN based networking, Mac networking and VoIP technologies

Server/Workstation – Strong understanding of Mac Server, Open Directory, Performing administration tasks on Exchange and window file servers (access rights, adds, deletes etc.)

Applications – Strong experience with back office applications and industry standard business software applications, Exchange mailbox setup, Outlook configuration, anti-virus and malware.

Printer support – Strong understanding of network printing and functions of all-in-one printers

Information Security – Strong understanding of industry best practices regarding information security

Deep understanding of the Apple OSX operating system Break/Fix – strong knowledge of various hardware and software configuration and support

Deploying new and repaired MacsDiagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems

Resolving remote access connection difficulties

Support users having difficulties with standard software apps

Support for our telephone and video conferencing facilities

Basic management of office network infrastructure (Switches, cabling, patching, moves, etc.)

Knowledge of Mac/LINUX Command Line, CSS, HTML, C language

Experience with FileMaker Pro is a must

Qualifications

Strong problem solving/analytical/critical thinking skills.
Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently, with team and with clients in a professional manner
Ability to follow through with tasks, projects, and troubleshooting
Excellent oral and written, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to develop good rapport and build strong relationships with internal IT clients
Experience in troubleshooting and critical incident management using various tools and utilities
Experience supporting back office applications and industry standard business software applications including MS Office and Outlook
Network connectivity and hardware trouble-shooting skills
A+, ACSP, CCNA, RHCSA and ACTC Certifications an asset

Other Requirements

Post-secondary education in Computer Information Technology, Computer Systems or related discipline
2 years or more experience in providing technical support to users, and working with computer systems, software, and hardware.

Working Conditions

The Network and System Administrator normally works in office. Working hours are usually 40 hours a week, and it may include evenings or weekends’ hours in order to provide network support to all team members.

Physical Requirements

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
