Project Manager – Newfoundland & Labrador Housing Corporation – St. John’s

Applications are invited for the temporary position of Project Manager in the Engineering Department, Head Office, St. John’s.

Duties: Reporting to the Director, Engineering, this incumbent is accountable for the technical management of projects in the areas of residential renovation and construction for Federal Portfolio groups.  Attends meetings with Federal Portfolio group; provides technical support and direction regarding long term property management to groups and Boards of Directors. Co-ordinates and supervises the planning, design, construction and administration of construction, renovation and capital works projects performed; assists in the preparation of budgets, monitors related expenditures; supervises technical staff; liaises with contractors, governments representative and other outside agencies regarding development and/or construction projects; oversees project management activities and monitors progress on various construction and development projects; prepares terms of reference; plans, controls and coordinates work for external consultants; and performs other related work.  Incumbent will work in partnership with the Manager, Home Assistance Programs; providing regular reporting and updates.

Qualifications: Considerable experience in residential development, construction, renovation and supervising technical staff; graduation from university with major course work in Engineering or Architecture; or graduation from a technical college with major course work in Civil or Architectural Technology;  or any equivalent combination of  related experience and training. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.  Knowledgeable in related computer software and technology and eligibility for membership in the PEG/NL, NAA, or AETTNL required.  The successful candidate must provide a recent Certificate of Conduct.

Salary: On the Management Pay Plan in the range $62,724 to $81,541 per annum based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week (effective July 1, 2015).  The incumbent will have specific responsibility for the Federal Portfolio and as such; may be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
