We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and dependable Technician II to work in Fort McMurray, AB. This opportunity involves working in the field and shop setting-up, tearing down, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing engine. This person will be mainly working with HVAC and Temperature Control equipment; however we will consider applicants with a Heavy Duty – Diesel Engine or Electrical background.
Our commercial fleet includes commercial diesel, gas-fired generators, chillers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heaters, and oil-free air compressors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment and documents this as directed by his/her supervisor
Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-house and on customer locations and handle repairs on HVAC and Temperature Control equipment or Diesel Engine / Power Generator
Work on Air conditioners up to 70 tons, Chillers up to 200 Tons including low temp chillers
Set up and operate equipment as directed
Utilize mathematical formulas to determine both nominal and effective kW requirements
Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics
Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment
Complete necessary paper work timely and accurately which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software as directed
Obtain and maintain necessary certifications required to operate any equipment as needed
Prepare various reports as directed to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventive maintenance
Ability to travel or work on camp when required
Drive for results to achieve standards of excellence and achieve ‘step changes’ in business results
Experience
High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training
Must have solid experience as HVAC or Chiller Technician
Electrical or Heavy Duty Mechanic / Power Generator background would be a plus
Experience servicing, testing and installing commercial or industrial refrigeration equipment
Excellent customer service skills
