The Village of McBride is a small community located in the Robson Valley. The village offers diverse outdoor attractions for all seasons. During the winter months, McBride has a variety of cross-country skiing trails and is world-famous snowmobiling trails and designated snowmobiling areas, as well as offering numerous locations for the ever-popular ice fishing. The warmer months in McBride allow for hiking, camping, fishing and bird watching.
The Village of McBride is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer. Under the direction of Council, the CAO is responsible for the overall management of the operations of the municipality and ensuring that the policies, programs and other directions of Council are implemented. Plus advising and informing the Council on the operation and affairs of the municipality. The position is also responsible for the Corporate Officer position.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A post-secondary degree in a related discipline and/or a certificate in local government administration
3 – 5 years’ experience in a municipal government environment at the Chief Administrative Officer or Senior Management position
Candidates with less experience or training may be considered for a development position
Active interpersonal communication skills
Clear written communication and report writing skills; and
Proficiency in public relations techniques and conflict resolution
Ability to work in a small office and have the ability to multi-task
The position offers a competitive salary based on a thirty-five hour week with a full range of benefits. Salary will depend on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
