We are an Ottawa based B2B conference organization that aims to create project opportunities for the renewables industry.

We are a small company of 5 permanent staff.

We currently run a series of conferences that take place in Toronto, Santiago (Chile), Johannesburg and London (UK).

The events aim to bring together the mining and renewable energy sectors to create project opportunties.

About the intern role

We are looking for someone who would like to intern with us for a year on all our events with the liklihood of travelling to all the event locations.

As a conference coordinator your role will be varied, interesting and challenging. Specifically your tasks will include: speaker, sponsor, delegate and partner liason, invoicing, website updating, onsite meeting coordinator, translation, assisting with conference marketing and production, negoatiating with industry associations and the media and many onsite activities associated with organising large international business conferences.

You will be paid a salary of C$25,000 with generous vacation.

The position runs from September 2015 through to July 2016 (though there may be an opporunity for additional work in May- August 2015)

About you

You will have at least one degree. You need to be professional, hardworking and independent. You need to be able to work in Ottawa (so citizen, PRcard holder, or work visa). You need to enjoy a challenge and understand that our events only succeed through hard work and team work.
You need to be extremely organised; you will be working on multiple events with numerous clients, delegates and speakers.
While no specific experience is required you will need to be happy and confident to try and learn new office and admin tasks: invoicing, web updates, chasing payments, fulfilling contracts etc.
You will need to be fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English.
You need to have an excellent and confident phone manner.
You need a good coat. Ottawa is very cold for many winter months.

We are a small, relaxed company. It is a friendly, welcoming place to work (we have dogs in the office) but you will have to have a social life outside of the office.
