Manager – Finance Administration – La Siembra Co-operative – Ontario

And you bring the following to the job:
University degree in Finance & Administration or Accounting
3-5 years managing accounting, payroll and office finance, analysis and administration functions including ERP
Sound knowledge of current financial and accounting practices and tools
Fully comfortable in Microsoft Office 365, strong to excellent in excel
Flexible, independent and meticulous work style with a high degree of comfort with ambiguity and change
Strong organizational and time management skills and can work with a high degree of autonomy to get the job done
Fluency in English (written and oral) required, French an asset

Overview of the Position
Maintain the general ledger and oversee financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable and receivable, deposits and petty cash; prepare month-end transactions and accruals; post to and reconcile general ledger and complete regular month-end and quarterly closing cycles;
Provide quarterly GL reconciliations and detailed variances to budget
Preparation of GST and PST tax remittances on a periodic basis, ensuring accurate and timely recoding of remittances and ITCs and compliance with provincial legislation;
Reconcile bank accounts and borrowing facilities;
Prepare cheque requisitions, issue cheques and EFTs, ensure invoices and expense reports are supported by the necessary documentation, coding and staff sign off
Support sales and purchasing to liaise with credit suppliers and clients
Support and oversee the training and development of the finance administrator to build additional capacity and depth in the department;
With the sales and finance administrator, oversee the management of all payroll functions including preparing and/or liaising with the finance administrator, or Executive Director for monthly staff payroll and remittances, ensuring accurate and timely submissions
With the sales and finance administrator, ensure accuracy of payroll-related filings (T4s, source deduction remittances), and prepare Records of Employment (ROE) as required
Ensure up to date and accurate financial information is readily available in a timely manner for reporting purposes and ensure that all sales reports and financial statements are accurate before disseminated;
Clearly communicate financial results to the Executive Director and membership as needed;
With the Executive Director, initiate and guide the annual budget process, quarterly and monthly forecasts, departmental KPIs and dashboards;
Support the Executive Director to prepare the draft budget for review by the Board of Directors, including a proforma Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow statements;
Build and enhance reporting tools and financial models on an as-needed basis to support effective decision making across the organization;
Support the development of medium and long-term capitalization strategies and cash flow monitoring;
Support the Executive Director to assist with the preparation of investor-related financial reports and communications, manage investor subscriptions and debentures, update investor database and track share certificates for capital management;
Prepare supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with external auditors as necessary, including the preparation of the trial balance and lead sheet, lead sales and operations on year end closing and cut offs, organize supporting documentation, and review/ monitor the internal controls over financial reporting
Review and submit annual tax return and investment income filings
Act as a mentor to department managers and the team to develop their talents and leadership skills in all matters of finance, accounting and administration
