Manager of Infrastructure – City of Parksville

Our Engineering Department has an opening for a permanent full-time Manager of Infrastructure position.

We are seeking a Manager of Infrastructure who wishes to work in a supportive and dynamic atmosphere leading the activities and operations of the infrastructure engineering team within the Engineering Department. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Operations, the Manager of Infrastructure will be responsible for the City’s capital works program, traffic/transportation engineering, maintenance of master plans, engineering inspection and GIS. The person in this position provides technical and design expertise for a wide variety of municipal infrastructure programs related to but not limited to roads, transportation, sanitary sewer, water utilities, storm drainage facilities, buildings, facilities and parks. The Manager of Infrastructure will strive to develop and maintain the City’s capital plans to ensure the long-term viability of municipal infrastructure.

As the ideal candidate you will have successfully completed Grade 12, supplemented by graduation from a technical institute as a Certified Applied Science Technologist or Professional Civil Engineering designation. You should be registered in good standing as an Applied Science Technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia or Professional Engineer in good standing with the APEGC and PMP certification would be an asset. Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Drivers licence and a clean driving record is also required. You should have considerable experience in project management, design, construction and budgeting along with a minimum of eight years’ experience working in a municipal unionized environment with progressive managerial experience.
