The City of Quesnel is seeking an experienced candidate with strong organizational and effective time management skills for the position of Utilities Superintendent. This position will report to the Director of Capital Works & Infrastructure, and be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the City of Quesnel’s potable water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems. He/she will perform a variety of functions such as the overall supervision of department staff and projects, development and monitoring of annual budgets, Health and Safety within the department, estimating costs for operating and capital works, development of policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have completed a relevant training program at the post-secondary level, a diploma from an Institute of Technology or the Environmental Operators Certification Program, related to water supply, distribution and wastewater collection. Have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the operations and maintenance of water/wastewater facilities and construction, possess experience effectively supervising and mentoring employees in a unionized environment and budget development and management skills and ability to determine cost effective solutions.
