Prairie North Health Region (PNHR) has Permanent and Temporary Full-time and Part-Time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse opportunities available at the Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford (SHNB), the Provincial Psychiatric Rehabilitation Hospital.

SHNB specializes in providing tertiary care and forensics services. It is a 156 bed Facility divided into 3 service areas of Short Term Rehabilitation, Extended Rehabilitation and Forensics Services. Salary or Pay Band: $34.94 – 45.35 (6 step range)

Up to $5000 in Recruitment/Relocation Incentives are also available for these positions.

Job Summary:
In partnership with interdisciplinary teams will carry out interdisciplinary patient programs to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients.
Deliver nursing care based on the nursing process and the primary care concept, to assigned patients.
Adhere to hospital policy and procedure in the area of patient assessment, problem identification and nursing care planning.
Provide a shift report to oncoming staff to ensure appropriate care of patients.
Utilize professional nursing judgment and discretion in all aspects of patient care.
Maintain a therapeutic environment based on principles of rehabilitation.
Assist in providing a safe, normalized environment with emphasis on the rights of patients to respect, dignity and professional care and treatment.
Provide patient teaching which facilitates patient’s understanding of his illness. Encourages to whatever extent possible, independence in activities of daily living.

Provide emotional support and therapeutic psychiatric nursing intervention to patients.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association (RPNAS)
