Regional Economic Development Coordinator – Regional District of Bulkley

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is seeking a motivated, team player to be the Regional Economic Development Coordinator. The Regional Economic Development Coordinator will assist with various economic development initiatives and complete administrative duties such as research, information compilation, communication, coordination of projects and administrating the Department’s databases, social media accounts and websites. The successful candidate is an energetic, motivated, team player who has an interest in community and economic development. This permanent, full time position is situated in Burns Lake, BC and offers a competitive salary range as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Flexible work schedule may be considered.

Job Duties will include, but not limited to:
Provide assistance to the Manager of Regional Economic Development in implementing the Regional Economic Development Action Plan, including such initiatives as business retention and attraction, resident attraction, re-training initiatives, sector diversification, etc.
Maintain and update the Department’s Image Bank, Statistical Data Warehouse, Social Media accounts (Facebook,Twitter,Youtube,Instagram) and Websites (Opportunities.rdbn.bc.ca, Bulkley-Nechako directory, visitbulkleynechako.ca, department section on RDBN website).
Coordinate and promote economic development events hosted by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako and partner organizations.
Complete regional marketing initiatives.
Conduct research and compile information relating to economic development issues and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 Education. Post-secondary education in business communications, economic development or related field of study preferred.
Minimum two years demonstrable experience in developing and writing funding proposals and/or assisting to implement economic development projects.
The ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing, and to respond to questions from staff, government officials, and the public.
Excellent Computer Skills, including proficiencies in internet research, social media, and Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Word and Excel.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully perform multiple time sensitive tasks.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Thoroughness and persistence in follow up.
Passion and concern for the region and knowledge and understanding of individual communities.
Valid BC driver’s license.
