Summary
Director of Sales, plays a leading role to position the Delta Brunswick as the leading 4 Star conference hotel in Saint John, New Brunswick.  This position drives the customer centric culture by role modeling and motivating straight from the heart service by the employee team to our guests.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales will play a key role in leading the sales and revenue team to achieve and exceed goals.  The successful candidate will be innovative and accountable for modeling and acting in accordance with Delta’s Core Values and Code of Ethics.

Summary of Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager, the primary responsibilities are:

A senior leader of the hotel, leading sales and revenue strategies of the hotel with a dynamic and innovative team
Provides council, direction and coaching to the sales and revenue team
Preparation of annual budget, sales plans, action plans and monthly forecasting/financial results
Provides pro-active direction to stimulate revenue growth while maintaining market leader position
Strong commitment to Excellence Principles through personal involvement
Directs and manages sales & revenue strategies
Have a strong presence in the community including strong partnerships with key stakeholders
Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment adhering to the legislation set out by Occupational Health and Safety
To influence and adhere to Delta’s environmental strategies

Qualifications

Post-secondary education, preferably in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management or Business
Prior Director, Sales & Revenue experience or minimum 3 years’ experience as a Division Head
Prior National/International Brand experience
Excellent leadership qualities and success in building and leading a strong team
Passion for innovation and able to put ideas into action
Thorough knowledge of financial statements, sales plans and analytically driven as it relates to revenue, forecasting and budgeting
Superior communication and organizational skills
Obsessively service oriented and extremely responsive to guest and employees’ needs
Ability to deliver strategic value
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Strong sales management background
Results driven
Ability to learn quickly
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
