Meco is currently recruiting for a Business Development & Technical Advisement Manager.  The focus of the Business Development & Technical Advisement Manager is securing new local, regional, national and international business opportunities, and solidifying existing business relationships.  Just as importantly, the position will provide technical assistance at all steps; from the point of assessing and responding to the RFP to the project debriefing end meeting.  The challenge of this position will be sourcing business opportunities that “fit” Meco and its business vision.  This position works under minimal supervision.  This position must be available Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.  Working outside of regular business time and overtime hours are regularly required for the purpose of networking and travel.  Travel is a condition of employment and the incumbent must have a valid passport, a valid drivers’ license and be reasonably insurable.  Specific areas of responsibility include:

Business Development and Client Relationships
Administration, Documentation and Reporting
Staff Relations
Participation in Projects Management

The successful applicant will have a Graduate degree in civil or structural engineering or have undergraduate degree in civil or structural engineering with tangible work experience.  Formal business, and/or sales training would be an asset.  The successful applicant must be disciplined, detail oriented and organized; have superior active listening and communication skills; possess excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem solving skills; be able to manage time, prioritize and plan efficiently; be able to work and make decisions independently; know the importance of effectively negotiating with others while maintaining the relationship; possess strong coaching skills; and, be a highly effective leader as well as an effective team player.
